The Izu Peninsula drops sharply toward the sea. From the Nishi-Izu Skyline to Shizuoka Prefectural Route 59, the road descends through dense woods. Orientation becomes unclear. Small branches lie across the pavement. Attention narrows to the immediate surface and what’s ahead.
When the Nishina River appears between the trees, the route finds its course. The descent eases. Houses and fields begin to show. The mountains recede gradually.
Crossing to the coastal road, Suruga Bay opens. An empty space by the water offers a natural stop. The transition is brief but distinct.
The motorcycle is still. The air feels wider. The photograph above captures my Kawasaki Ninja 250SL model year 2015 in Lime Green and Ebony. It was taken at the route’s arrival point in the summer of 2015.
